Dear Professor Day,

I am a student at this university. I support the strike and have some questions to ask.

• How is the university going to address the use of temporary contracts that leave hourly paid staff 10 minutes to mark essays a student may have spent weeks working on?

• How, as a member of the board of UUK (the employers’ association), are you bringing people to the table to negotiate an end to the dispute over pensions?

• How is the university addressing the 17% median gender pay-gap and the causes of it?

• How is the university accounting for its BME pay-gap and the causes of it?
